Bramblefair is an independent review site for players in the UK. Every game on our shelf has been played through by us and reviewed in full, with its platforms, what it can cost after you buy it and a sensible place to end a session.

p.02Why a shelf

We grew up reading the backs of game boxes in shops, trying to guess what was inside. The shelf on our home page is that ritual done properly: pull a case, read an honest back of the box, then open the full case file if it looks like your kind of evening.

p.03Who writes the reviews

A small group of long-time players who between them cover action, platformers, racing, sport, building games, phone games and accessibility settings. A game is reviewed only after one of us has played it properly, and team games are played with other people.

p.04How the site is paid for

It carries no adverts, affiliate links, sponsored reviews or products. We host no games, run no accounts and take no payments, so no company has a reason to ask us for a better rating.

p.05Conflicts of interest

If a reviewer has a personal or professional link to a game, someone else reviews it and the case file says so. We do not accept gifts or trips in exchange for coverage.

Every cover is an original illustration made for this site in the visual style of its game, from hand-inked myth to soft pastel space. None of it is official artwork, a screenshot or a real person.

The best games are designed to keep you playing. We think a review site should say where a session ends well and what a game costs over time, so every case file does, and our play-well kit sits right beside the reviews.
